STARFIELD STUD
Starfield Stud is a purpose-built stud farm with efficiency and functionality at the heart of its design.
Developed in 2019 from scratch on the family plot of Micheál Orlandi the stud covers around 100 acres near the banks of Lough Owel outside the town of Mullingar. As well as all new buildings the entire farm was re-seeded and fields re-mapped, with investment in quality products everywhere, to provide a top-class modern thoroughbred stud.

THE TEAM
Micheál Orlandi
Owner and Manager
Micheál developed a passion for racing and breeding from a young age having been brought up showjumping and hunting. Following a spell at Coolmore Australia, he completed an International Commerce Degree at UCD where he met Maurice Burns and gained valuable experience at Rathasker Stud.
A period as Bloodstock and Marketing Manager with Mark Johnston gave him further knowledge of the industry before founding the Compas brand including Compas Stallions in 2014. Since then, Micheál has rapidly grown the Compas Stallions roster in conjunction with various partners, built Starfield Stud and developed the bloodstock agency, Compas Equine.
